Important Info
- The UK moved to a fully digital eVisa system from 25 February 2026 u2014 approved applicants get a digital immigration record linked to their UKVI account instead of a passport sticker.
- Application is completed online at gov.uk, followed by a mandatory biometrics appointment at a VFS Global centre in India. There is no visa-on-arrival for Indian passport holders.

You visit a VFS Global centre in India to submit your fingerprints and a digital photograph, and hand over any documents not already uploaded online.
How long does the UK visa take?
Standard processing is 15 working days from your biometrics appointment, though priority (5 working days) and super-priority (next working day) services are available for an extra fee.
How long can I stay in the UK on a Standard Visitor visa?
The Standard Visitor visa permits stays of up to 6 months per visit. Longer-validity visas (2, 5, or 10 years) are also available for frequent travellers.
